Ryleigh Mata was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Tuesday, driving in six on three hits to lead Santa Fe Indians Varsity past Goose Creek 15-5 on Tuesday. Mata drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the third.

Santa Fe Indians Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Mata singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

After Goose Creek scored two runs in the top of the third, Santa Fe Indians Varsity answered with two of their own. Goose Creek scored when an error scored two runs for Goose Creek. Santa Fe Indians Varsity then answered when Mata singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and a wild pitch allowing the second run to score.

Santa Fe Indians Varsity pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored two runs for Santa Fe Indians Varsity, Mata doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs, and Rylie Bouvier’s sac fly scored one run for Santa Fe Indians Varsity.

Mady Blake led things off on the rubber for Santa Fe Indians Varsity. She went five innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out four.

Santa Fe Indians Varsity racked up 13 hits in the game. Mata, Juliana Garcia, Reese Reyna, Maggie Childs, and Ciara Trahan each racked up multiple hits for Santa Fe Indians Varsity. Mata went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Santa Fe Indians Varsity in hits.
