Santa Fe Indians JV took the lead late and defeated South Houston 7-2 on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Santa Fe Indians JV batting in the bottom of the fourth when Kyle Fraser singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
In the top of the third inning, South Houston tied things up at two. Smeltz’s sac fly scored one run for South Houston.
Santa Fe Indians JV scored three runs in the fifth inning. Santa Fe Indians JV’s big bats in the inning were led by a walk by Davidson, a single by Fraser, and an error on a ball put in play by Trevor Eernisse.
Fraser pitched Santa Fe Indians JV to victory. He went five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out five.
Franco took the loss for South Houston. He surrendered five runs on five hits over one and one-third innings, walking one.
Meza started the game for South Houston. He allowed one hit and two runs over three innings, striking out two
Santa Fe Indians JV racked up six hits on the day. Ashton Lozano and Fraser all managed multiple hits for Santa Fe Indians JV. Fraser and Lozano all had two hits to lead Santa Fe Indians JV.
